No Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies


2 sticks butter
1 c brown sugar
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp bkg soda
3 C. flour
1 bag Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

Cream butter and sugars. Add egg & vanilla, mix. Add salt & bkg soda & mix. Add flour & mix. If dough is sticky, add 1/2 c more flour,  so you can roll the cookie dough without it sticking to your fingers. (I've noticed that the dough needs more flour in humid climates, it used 3 C. in AZ, and I do 3 1/2 C. in OR) Finally add chocolate chips. Bake at 325 for about 10 mins. the key is to NOT over bake. Watch them and when you think, "they could probably use another min", TAKE THEM OUT! You can always put them back in if you need to. They will still cook a bit more on the cookie sheet. Wait until they cool to transfer them.
